Sure, sure, that's a trite answer, we know. But however flippant your "hair guru" is with their advice, it's also a truism. And rarely do people look bad going a little shorter.
Do we mean that you women should cut off 3 feet of hair and leave 3 inches? Well, no, not immediately! Why not go in steps?
You can cut half your hair off, and still have plenty. Like how the short hair looks? Try it a little shorter! But don't go from back length to scalp length unless you're sure. That's a lot of hair at once. And drastic cuts without ample forethought aren't a good idea. Not that they won't look good, they sure might - but you need to consider it!

Women's Short Hair
More women should try short hair. When we think of some of the most sexy images of short haired women, some of the 20s era ladies come to mind. Some very sexy, and very short hair styles have been around, and you might give them a "swing"!
Short Man's Hair
For men, shorter is better when we're talking about thinning hair.
When the hair recedes, it's not time to grow a pony tail. More hair in the back doesn't compensate for none in the front. We suggest the Ed Harris approach -- cut it short short short!
